MODENA Energy supports the industrial sector's transition to clean energy
Jakarta, July 23, 2026 – MODENA Energy has officially inaugurated a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the industrial facility of PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia (MNK), a subsidiary of PT Ancora Indonesia Resources Tbk (OKAS), located in Cikampek, West Java. With an installed capacity of 307.5 kWp, the system is projected to generate approximately 400,000 kWh of electricity annually while reducing carbon emissions by up to 360,000 kg of CO₂ each year.
"Our collaboration with PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia marks a strategic step in supporting the adoption of solar energy within Indonesia's industrial sector and accelerating the country's clean energy transition. More industries are turning to solar PV not only to strengthen their sustainability commitments but also to improve long-term operational cost efficiency and ensure a more stable energy supply. Through our comprehensive solar solutions, MODENA Energy is ready to support these evolving industry needs," said Agiya Fersya, Head of MODENA Energy.
The rooftop solar PV system installed at PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia operates under an on-grid scheme, meaning it is integrated with Indonesia's national electricity grid (PLN). Under this system, daytime electricity demand is supplied by solar energy, while electricity from the PLN grid remains available whenever required. For industrial operations, this configuration provides greater energy efficiency without compromising operational reliability.
"The installation of a rooftop solar PV system at PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia marks Ancora's first step toward expanding the adoption of renewable energy across our business operations. In addition to supporting Indonesia's energy transition and the government's Net Zero Emission target, this project delivers tangible benefits through improved energy efficiency and reduced electricity costs. We hope this initiative will not only strengthen our company's competitiveness but also serve as the foundation for implementing clean energy solutions across all Ancora business units. Ultimately, we aim to create long-term value for our stakeholders while making a meaningful contribution to environmental preservation and sustainable industrial development," said Susilo Yuwono, General Manager of Manufacture at PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia.

Growing Potential for Solar Adoption in the Industrial Sector
The outlook for solar energy adoption in Indonesia's industrial sector is expected to continue growing in the coming years. In line with the government's objective of increasing the contribution of solar PV as one of the country's primary renewable energy sources, more industrial companies are leveraging solar power to improve energy efficiency, optimize operating costs, and strengthen business competitiveness amid rising energy demand.
This trend is reflected in the Indonesia Solar Energy Outlook (ISEO) 2025, which identifies the industrial sector as the largest contributor to rooftop solar PV capacity additions throughout 2024. As of the end of July 2024, approximately 104 MWp of new rooftop solar capacity had been installed across industrial facilities. This growth has been driven by companies seeking greater operational efficiency while meeting their decarbonization and sustainability commitments.1
